One of our repeat clients, a local Cornish developer, came to us for help in creating a group of contemporary dwellings on the riverside in Truro.
Working collaboratively with our client and a team of engineers and surveyors, we provided a full service from presenting initial ideas to obtaining planning permission, achieving building regulations approval and helping with the internal design on site.
Our joint efforts resulted in an attractive development of four townhouses and four two-bedroomed apartments, with enviable river views, which are modern but totally in keeping with their location.
Buildings don’t exist as drawings or computer files. The context, the aspect, the materials, the surrounding landscape or buildings, and the way these features of the environment interact, all play a part in achieving the desired effect.
In this case we used render, cedar shiplap, lead, powder-coated aluminium and black pine – a combination of authentic materials that match the local scene and form the basis of a new Cornish vernacular.
